Disaster Preparedness Resources As of May As of May 2007, Clay County and St. Johns County have not designated pet-friendly public evacuation shelters. The City of Jax has designated the below listed Pet-Friendly Public Evacuation Shelters for Duval County residents. Pet owners must complete a pre-registration form and mail to: Animal Care & Control, 2580 West First Street 32254 Attn: Pet Friendly Shelter Pre-registration. Animal species which will be accepted into the shelters are dogs, cats, rodents (hamster, gerbils etc), rabbits, and birds. Reptiles will not be allowed. All pets must have proof of current vaccination and registration; be properly crated or caged and maintained by their owners. Animals may be house in a separate room from their owners.

The shelters are as follow: -Landmark Middle School, 101 Kernan Blvd., North (32225) -Mandarin Middle School, 5100 Hood Rd. (32257) -Chimney Lakes Elementary School, 9353 Staples Mills Dr. (32244)
